Crack Psp-3000

In the following I will write a detailed guide on how to update your PSP to the newest hackable Firmware and how to install the newest Light Custom Firmware.

This will not be a fancy guide. Don t await any fancy graphics, this will be a simple text guide with a few screenshots to help you.

This guide will be divided into 5 parts. A Custom Firmware for Firmware 6.20, one for Firmware 6.35 and one for Firmware 6.39. I also added the downgrading option for the people who want to have the permanent 6.20. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PSP. This tutorial was created by me, but every program in this thread was created by others.

Differences between 6.20 PRO, 6.35 PRO and 6.39 PRO:

The main difference between those two is, that the 6.20 PRO can be installed permanently. That means, if you turn off the PSP, that it is still installed. The 6.35 PRO and 6.39 PRO can only be installed temporarily and will be erased as soon as you turn off your PSP. This is due to the new checks that were build in the 6.35. A permanent patch for it would require a lot of work. If a permanent patch for 6.35 get s released, I will update this thread to reflect the new changes. The compatibility should be nearly or exactly the same for backups, homebrew and plugins. The 6.20 PRO can t be installed permanently on every PSP. Some new models of the PSP 3000 9g doesn t allow you to install it permanently. On this PSP s, you can only install the 6.20 PRO temporarily or the 6.35 PRO 9g is limited to PSP 3000, so if you have a PSP 1000, 2000 or Go, you don t need to worry about it.

Newer PSP 3000 models come with Firmware 6.35. They have the modelnumber 9g and new drivers. These PSP s can t be downgraded to 6.20 DON T TRY IT, YOU WILL RECEIVE A BRICK and you can t install the 6.20 PRO permanently to the PSP. If you have a PSP 3000 and installed your PRO, always look into the System Information and notice what g you have. If your g is something else than 9, you can downgrade and install the 6.20 PRO permanently. If your PSP is 9g, you can only install the Custom Firmwares temporarily.

The PSP Scene developed a lot. We came a long way from downgraders, different Exploits and the discovery of the Pandora Battery. Today, we can put a Custom Firmwares on our PSP with very small effort. Old Custom Firmwares were mostly limited to older Firmwares that were patched very fast. Today, things like the easy install of Custom Firmwares are possible due to signed eboots. In my opinion, these new Custom Firmwares are better then the old Custom Firmwares. They are much easier to install and games that needed patches to work on old Custom Firmwares, work without problems now.

First, you need to know on what Firmware you are right now.

To do this, turn on your PSP,scroll all the way to the left and scroll down until you see the System Settings and press X. Scroll down again until you see the System Information and press X again.

If your System Software is lower than 6.35 or is exactly 6.35, this tutorial can help you on your way to homebrew.

Next you download the PSP Module Checker, put it on your PSP s memorystick and run it. It shows what kind of PSP you have only important for PSP 3000, others can be ignored. If your PSP has 9g, you can t install the 6.20 permanent and can t downgrade to 6.20. PSP s with 9g can only be downgraded to 6.35 to run the 6.35 PRO or the 6.39 PRO without the need of downgrading.

Now comes the most important part. If you want the 6.20 Custom Firmware, which can be installed permanently, please look at the first part. If your Firmware is over 6.20, but under or exactly 6.35, you can install the 6.35 Light Custom Firmware. For this, look at the second part. I reflected the installation of the 6.39 one on the third part.

Firmware 6.20 PSP 1000, 2000 and 3000

A memory stick with enough space/enough space on your PSP Go.

If your Firmware is below 6.20:

Download the 6.20 update. It comes as an EBOOT.PBP, if not, rename it this way. Connect your PSP to your Computer and copy the EBOOT.PBP into the folder PSP/GAME/UPDATE. This means that you create these folders, if they are not presented. When you open your PSP, there should be a folder called PSP, inside should be a folder called GAME, inside the folder should be a folder called UPDATE. If one of these folders are not presented, just create them. Copy your downloaded EBOOT.PBP in the UPDATE folder. It should look like this:

When it looks like this, just turn your PSP on, go to the memory stick and start the UPDATE. Follow the explanation and your PSP is updated to Firmware 6.20.

If your Firmware is 6.20 and you want to install the Custom Firmware permanently:

The permanent patch is only installable if you have a PSP belog 9g. Trying to install the permanent patch on a PSP 9g will brick the PSP. To know what g you have, install the 6.20 PRO-B6 but not the permanent patch and look into the system information. At the very bottom, you can see what g you have. Download the 620PRO-B9.rar I linked above. Extract the RAR File if you don t know what I mean, google for Winrar and Install it. and copy the folders

PROUPDATE and 620PRO_Permanent

inside your PSP/GAME folder. If they are not present on your PSP, create a folder called PSP, and inside, create a folder called GAME inside it and copy these two folders inside it. If you have a PSP 3000, you should look into the System Information now. On the screenshot above, you can see that your Xg is listed at the bottom of the information. If you have 9g, then you are finished now. You can only install it temporarily on the 3000 9g. If your g is not 9g, you can process onward. After you installed the PROUPDATE, run the Permanent Patch and Press X and after you read the brick warning, press X again.

If your Firmware is 6.20 and you want to install the Custom Firmware temporarily:

Download the 620PRO-B9.rar I linked above. Extract the RAR File if you don t know what I mean, google for Winrar and Install it. and copy the folders

PROUPDATE and FastRecovery FastRecovery starts the Custom Firmware again if you turned your PSP off. Just needs a few seconds

inside your PSP/GAME folder. If they are not present on your PSP, create a folder called PSP, and inside, create a folder called GAME inside it and copy these two folders inside it.

This is how your folder should look like after extracting the file you downloaded above:

Copy the correct folders I stated above on your PSP.

Turn your PSP on and go to the memory stick. Start the PRO Update.

The Firmware should install automatically. If not, hold L and press X.

After you started the PROUPDATE on 6.20, start the Permanent Patch to install your 6.20 permanently. When you start it, press X, read the brick warning and press X again. After the PSP restarted, start the permanent patch again and press X and the O. Now it will be installed.

Firmware 6.35 PSP 1000, 2000 and 3000

If your Firmware is below 6.35:

Download the 6.35 update.

Follow the explanation and your PSP is updated to Firmware 6.35.

Download the 635PRO-B9.rar I linked above. Extract the RAR File if you don t know what I mean, google for Winrar and Install it. and copy the folders

Firmware 6.39 PSP 1000, 2000 and 3000

If your Firmware is below 6.39:

Download the 6.39 update.

Follow the explanation and your PSP is updated to Firmware 6.39.

Download the 639PRO-B9.rar I linked above. Extract the RAR File if you don t know what I mean, google for Winrar and Install it. and copy the folders

Firmware 6.60 PSP 1000, 2000 and 3000

If your Firmware is below 6.60:

Download the 6.60 update.

Follow the explanation and your PSP is updated to Firmware 6.60.

Download the 660PRO_B9.rar I linked above. Extract the RAR File if you don t know what I mean, google for Winrar and Install it. and copy the folders

DOWNGRADE FROM 6.3x TO 6.20/6.35

Download the Downgrader I linked above. Check your PSP with the Module Checker posted at the top. Is your PSP a 9g. Copy the 6.35 Firmware I linked above to X: PSP GAME UPDATE EBOOT.PBP X is for your Drive Letter, the Firmware itself should be named EBOOT.PBP. If not, rename it. Every other g can be downgraded to 6.20, so use the 6.20 Update instead. Copy the folder PSP that you ve extracted from the Downgrader to your Memorystick and overwrite the folder.

When you ve set up your Stick like this, run the downgrader. from the PSP Menu not the PSP Update. Wait a bit and the Update should start. Install it like a normal Update and after restarting, your PSP should be on Firmware 6.20 or 6.35. Support for every PSP and Generation has been added. You can downgrade every PSP out there with this downgrader. Newer PSP 3000 with 9g and 7g only can be downgraded to 6.35. If your PSP came with 6.35, it can be downgraded to 6.35, but not to 6.20.

How to use Homebrew and Backups of your PSN Games and UMD s:

Backups of your PSP Games go into the folder ISO. If it is not there, create it.

Homebrews come as a EBOOT.PBP file in a folder. Copy this folder into the PSP/GAME folder.

PSN Stuff also goes into the PSP/GAME folder.

Congratulations, now you have a Custom Firmware on your PSP. I hope that my tutorial helps you and shows you the wonderful world of homebrew. If you have any questions or have any improvements for my tutorial, please message me. I am eager for your experiences with this tutorial. Many many thanks to Coldbird and VFlame. They are the creators of this superb Custom Firmwares. It is really one of my favorites. I can understand all the people who d like their GEN and M33 firmwares, but sometimes you just got to change a running system to make things better

Credits to aminemaster for the two pics from the 6.20 permanent installation.

Thanks for posting your opinion. Did you try it. Everything went good. Didn t try, just wanted to post. Do you have anything I could improve in my tutorial.

i will add the things you said as soon as possible. thanks for your tips.

In the PRO Firmwares, there is no difference. The TN-Hen needs a ISO Loader, the 6.20 PRO has like the 6.35 a build in one

I will try to add the last point, but I m not sure how I should write it But we will see Thanks for your tips

In the PRO Firmwares, there is no difference. The TN-Hen needs a ISO Loader, the 6.20 PRO has like the 6.35 a build in one

Maybe someone can write a tutorial about the different firmwares :-

If the 3000 is below 6.35 you can install the 6.35 PRO-B5 temporarily

If the 3000 is below 6.20 you can install the 6.20 PRO-B5 permanently

If the 3000 is below 6.20 but a new PSP 3000 you can install the 6.20 PRO-B5 temporarily

Thanks it works, now she can play P3P on her PSP while I play Persona 4 on the big screen.

But I think most people that will use this tut will have a brand new psp, so i realy think you should add the 9g stuff to and how to find out and why driver issue.

Thanks, very clear and easy to follow instructions.

I have a PSP 3000 piano black in the mail expect to get it delivered in the next couple of days and I can t wait to hack it.

Hopefully, it s not gonna be one of those new naughty unhackable firmware on it, or the whole 9g business, I got it new from Amazon.

I played almost everything on the DS, now it seams a good time to own a PSP.

Cheaper then ever, easy to hack, and a vastly catalog of games to choose from

At least, it s gonna keep me busy until the 3DS gets a decent library as well.

Let s just hope I m gonna be able to hack it.

By the way, what are the chances that a piano black PSP3000 comes with a firmware 6.35.

im thinking about getting a new psp 3000 from a retail store maybe game or gamestop or FNAC dont know if you know the last one, its a mutimedia shop, sells books, music cd s, consoles, etc what are the chances i get a 9g and even if i get one, what are the chances of getting one that has firmware 6.35. :S

in short, psp motherboard. - moddels needs a minimum ofw.

its a drivers issue. lower fw doesnt contains the drivers for that type of motherboard and FW s are backwards compatible so the newer ones contains drivers for all the older types of psps

for the 300x 9g 9e generation moddels this is 6.30.

if you try to install an OFW lower than de mininum you can brick your toy.

So if you buy a new 300x psp and it contains OFW 6.3O, changes are high you have a 9g moddel and you cannot downgrade to 6.20 to install 6.20 PROB5 and you can only use the 6.35 PROB5

Or use the psp module checker to be sure

thanks for mollekemiel for helping me so much with my tutorial Max, if you buy a new one, the chances it is 9g is very high. if your psp comes with fw 6.30, don t downgarde, as mollekemiel said. in this case, you can only install the 6.35 PRO-B5

QUOTE hunter291 May 16 2011, PM I don t know what the newest PSP 3000 ship with, but as you bought it new from amazon, the chances that you have a 9g one are very high. so permanent is not an option for you. that the psp has firmware 6.35 or less is more likely, so you need to install the 6.35.

WOW.I just got my PSP3000Just WOW.

First, I checked the firmware, and to my surprise and delight, it was 6.20. .

Second, I installed the 6.20 Pro B5 worked like a charm and checked the motherboard type, and..it was 0.4g .

Next, I applied the permanent patch, and now my shiny new PSP3000 is fully hacked.

There are no words to describe how happy I am, I was already accepting the fact that I was lucky if I was gonna get a 6.35 and semi hack it, now I just can t believe my luck

Maybe you can separate each section or so into some spoilers.

Cool I hope my tutorial helped you a bit with it

Your guide helped me A LOT WITH IT.

I ve had 2 psps gathering dust for a while, so I gave this guide a go.

I opted for the 6.20 perm patch, tested a few things and everything works fine

I managed to follow the guide in about 5-10 minutes total with no problems.

Now, I have a question, say I ve got a game that when you go to play it it requires a higher firmware version than 6.20.

Update to 6.3, then 6.3 cfw, then play the game, then if I want to go back to 6.20cfwI need to downgrade and install the lower 6.2 cfw.

or can games be patched to ignore what fw version your psp has no idea btw, only modded the psp as your guide was so short and easy to follow

20 days later than me. but thanks for the link.

I just wanted to say that I updated the guide for 6.39. The 6.39 PRO-B6 is available now. Anyone knows how to change the topics name.

It is called PS3Jig. It was used to put the PSP in the dongle like state when the ps3 homebrew was still with this dongle stuff and everything xD I was never realy in the ps3 stuff, but now the ps3 has custom firmwares and everything if I read it right. I just wanted to have it on my psp in case

sucsussfully modded my release day PSP 1000 Phat first time with CFW 6.39 PRO-B6 first time.

works great, so now I can emulate my old games as on the DS its a bit hit and miss, gonna see if teh compatibility is better on the PSP

Thanks for this guide, helped out a ton. Quick and easy, painless if you follow the instructions. THANKS.

I m a beginner in this. I have psp 3001, I got the light firmware for 6.39. The only problem I am having is where to put the ISO folder. The psp keep seeing the folder as a coruptted file. At the moment it is at PSP/GAME/ISO. Is this where it suppose to be at or somewhere else.

Beginner questions like this are in the stickied FAQ in the hacking section though of course that can t cover everything.

Thanks for this tut. Just did a new PSPgo 6.39. Emulators working wonderfully. Just having a problem with the ISOs. I m putting them in the ISO folder in root ofcourse just like with regular PSPs but going to Game-Systemstorage the iso just shows as a corrupted file. Do I need additional files.

edit, NVM. The iso itself was corrupt. Thanks again

Beginner questions like this are in the stickied FAQ in the hacking section though of course that can t cover everything.

Well i m a stoned beginner like your dad i ve looked everywhere for this stickie FAQ other answers got the 6.39 pro installed no problem but like I said i m stoned and have 2 root folders MP_ROOT MLN_ROOT where exactly do the iso cso go to play do I need a launcherhelp please

Discussion in PSP - Tutorials FAQs started by hunter291, May 2, 2011.

when you open the memorystick, create a folder called ISO directly in the first path. Dont open any folders, just create the folder ISO directly on the memorystick.

If your PSP is for example E: on your Computer, the folder is E: ISO

All your ISOs and CSOs go into this folder and can be started from the psp xmb.

THANKS I JUST SENT YOU A MESSAGE WITH A BUNCH OF OTHER NEWBIE QUESTIONS I CAN T FIND ANSWERS TO BUT THANKS SO FAR.QUICK RESPONSE TIME.THANKS AGAIN

Hi everyone. I have a psp 1001 with 5.00 m33-6 CFW.

Wich of all the recent CFW s is the best. Wich one hsould i upgrade to.

Is it better to have a full or light install.

Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The coders of the pro firmwares have announced that a popsloader will be released. That makes this firmware a worthy opponent to the older cfw s. the most arguments against it were the missing popsloader. in my opinion, this cfw is the best one. it is for you to decide if you want it permanently installed. if you turn your psp in standby either way, I would say the 6.39 one. all the tools you need are in this thread. just read every step carefully and everything should work fine.

EDIT: The popsloader is out Grab it at

Enjoy. Will update the guide with the information when I have time

Ok thanks everyone for the quick replies.

EDIT: Installed 6.39 OFW over 5.00 M33-6. Had a panic attack over a blue screen stating configuration data corrupted. It fixed itself by pressing O.

Proceeded with the PRO B-7 installation for it to be permanent. Now i m having some issues:

- Gamesaves from Bleach Heat The Soul 7 and DBZ Tenkaichi Tag Team can t be loaded anymore, saying they are corrupted.

- Got latest popsloader, isn t of any use since all my ps1 eboots are working without it, exept Resident Evil 2, wich i could use on 5.00 M33-6 with some fixes, the said fixes does not work anymore, namely the pops wich doesn t do anything, exept sending me back to XMB with a error 80000004.

If using a pops under 4-5.XX it send me back, and using highter either keeps a black screen or do nothing after PS screen

Aside from these all my homebrew, emulators and stuff work just like before. And everything in the XMB menu load instantly

So if anybody experienced this or know a way to fix these two problems, help would be greatly appreciated.

Can i downgrade this to 6.20. It s a red 3004 with date code 0C, TA-093 mb, 04g.

Is there such a chart build by users with mb type - data code - bundle color and factory firmware or succesfully installed firmware. Like they have for the Wii on wiidrives.com

Version 4g can be downgraded to 6.20. Only the newer PSP 3000 can t be downgraded to 6.20. The most important thing is if the PSP had the 6.20 on it in the past. Every 4g should have had the 6.20. So as far as I know you can safely downgrade your PSP.

hey hunter291your tutorial was really interesting and taught me a lot and made me understand a lotim a newbie to this CFW and all but i want to learn.im having a PSP 3001 bought in October 2008 with OFW 6.39 and i used your module checker and mine is 03g. i want to install a CFW on my PSP very badly. is there any possibility i can do this without bricking it. can i directly install CFW 6.39 PRO-B8 or should i downgrade it first to 6.20/6.35 and will there be any problem while downgrading mine. Is it possible to install a CFW permanently or what path should i follow to install permanently.

And could u explain the differences between the various CFW available for 6.39 like 6.39 PRO-B, 6.39 TN-A HEN, 6.39 Team-Nom HEN, 6.39 ME-X or LME-X and others that i may have missed out. im soo confused and dont know what to install or which one is the best and most stable.. thanx in advance for ur help

no the last time i cheeked 3gs were hackable i think fully to.

edit yes your psp is fully hackable

ars25 --thats good to know.. thanx. so now do i just install the 6.39 PRO B-8 or should i downgrade and install 6.20 B-8. which one is more stable and compatible with most of the homebrew apps or what are they calledsorry im new to all this. and compared to the other 6.39 CFW s i mentioned earlier which one should i go with. whats the difference between them all.i want to keep them permanently..whats the difference between permanent CFW and temporary anyways..i mean whats the loss in temp and what will come up when u restart ur psp in the temp ones.

and i heard that these Lite Custom Firmwares dont have as much compatibility with homebrews and PSX and some plug-ins unlike the full CFW s. .whats the difference between a LCFW and CFW..

they are booth the same except 6.20 is perma patchable to all psp from 1g-5 while 6.39 is only perma patchable to 1-some 2g and i think yours but downgrade to 6.20 b-8 to be safe and use the popsloader plugin to have better psx compatibility and hombrew is the same

ars25---ok then i guess i ll go with a downgrade to 6.20 and then CFW 6.20 B-8..i just have a few last questions

1 what is a popsloader plugin.

2 what do u mean by psx and what does it do on the psp.does it have anything to do with the PSN..

3 do i have to install any other iso loader to play iso/cso games on 6.20 B-8 or will it have an iso loader built-in.

4 before i go ahead and install CFW 6.20 B-8, whats the difference between 6.39 PRO-B, 6.39 TN-A HEN, 6.39 Team-Nom HEN, 6.39 ME-X or LME-X, etc, etc.

i hope u will answer all my above questions.and thanx for being soo helpful so far..

i hope u will answer all my above questions.and thanx for being soo helpful so far..

1 popsloader is a plugin let s you load different version of pops.

2 psx is ps1 games, and can be converted to be psp compatible. and there are some psn version of psx/ps1 games.

Don t know if this been asked before, but how do you install CWcheat this. I m using the PRO for the 6,39 it works perfect but I really don t know how to install CWcheat so yeah

On the risk of sounding completely stupid, how do I run the Module Checker. I just acquired an alrady hacked PSP 3000, but it has the CFW 6.39. I want to know if I can downgrade it to 6.20, thus having a permanent hack, but since I m all new to this, I actually just don t know how to run it. Big thanks in advance to whoever answers, and sorry for the dumb question.. _.

If you re on pro cfw you can just check the system info and it ll tell you what module you have

Oh, whoops, upon checking that, I noticed I actually have 6.39 LME-5. I just assumed it was PRO because I could run ISOs directly from the memory stick, and this thread states tha PRO does so. :/

In that case, do you recommend I switch over to PRO or leave it as is. Also, does this custom firmware wear off if I turn off the console. Since I thought I had 6.39 PRO, I haven t turned my PSP off yet.

I ve never used LME so I m not too sure, but I m pretty sure all PSP 3000 with 6.39 can not use permanent hack, only PSP 1000 and 2000 can be permanently hack on 6.39.

PSP 3000 can be permanently hack if the motherboard is 05g or less and using 6.20 firmware

your PSP 3000 since it s on 6.39 should have a LMELauncher, kinda like fast recovery for PRO-B CFW.

It s really up to you if you want to switch, PRO is easier, it s more noob friendly and more people has it so it s easier to get help and trouble shoot.

If you want to use the module checker, see this video

I currently have a PSP Go with 6.20 firmware. If I mod it with the current methods here, will I still be able to access the PSN network, let alone be able to play online with that modded PSP. If not, will it work with 6.39 firmware.

you will still be able to go online but certain games need an online pass for online play

Would you happen to know what those certain games are. Would you risk getting your PSN account banned for going online using a modded PSP.

Also, how does one know if they have a PSP 9g. Specifically regarding a PSP Go.

No PSP Go comes with 9g. Only the newest PSP 3000 come with 9g. Every PSP except the newest 3000 can be downgraded to 6.20 if they are on a newer firmware. You can enter the PSN with the newest PRO firmwares, but I am not sure about online playing.

psp go are all currently 5gs 9gs are the new 3000s phantasy star modnation racers socom and some others need the pass and no it will not ban you psn acc

With the newest PRO firmware. So in that case, I ll have to use the temporary cfw 6.39 then.

no what he meant was that with latest pro build for your desirable fw you can go on the psn

edit: here is a working link 6.20 pro b-8

just wanted to ask if i am currently on tn-c right now not a permanent mod would i be able to change to pro b8 by just turning off my psp go and deleting the tn-c files and running the pro b8 mod here in the tutorial.

i am currently on 6.20 on the psp go

I m not familiar with TN-C at all, but if TN-C has an uninstall option, then run that first. Then you can follow the PRO tutorial once you re back to 6.20 OFW.

That s the recommended process for updating PRO itself for example, B7 to B8. Uninstalling the previous version and installing the new one.

What he said. Just make sure you make a clean deinstall of the perma patch. Be sure that you are on the clean 6.20 ofw. When you are sure that you are on 6.20 ofw, just follow my steps for the 6.20 pro-b8 and if you wish the permanent patch. Good luck and please report back if everything worked

Hey everyone thanks for the reponses..

but if my current psp go with the 6.20 tn c hasnt been permanently modded meaning if i swtich my current psp go off the cfw will be back to 6.20. .i dont think ive installed the perma patch to my 6.20 tn c mod

so technically i dont think there is an uninstall feature.

ah sorry. I read that you are on a perma mod xD If it is not the case, just turn off your psp completely and you should be back on the 6.20 ofw. Just delete the whole 6.20 tn stuff from your mem stick in case of any files that could get mixed up, which is unlikely but I don t have the folder names in my mind . then just follow the 6.20 route and you should be fine

Just delete the whole 6.20 tn stuff from your mem stick in case of any files that could get mixed up, which is unlikely but I don t have the folder names in my mind . then just follow the 6.20 route and you should be fine

Hey yeah i figured it was as easy as that lol

is it just me or is the process to mod the psp using the pro b mods easier to do..ive been looking around on the internet and this guide here is the easiest so far to follow i just modded my brother psp go last nite using this guide and its been greatin fact after modding his psp go lastnite ive decided to pick up a used psp go for myself lolbut the psp go i am getting currently the owner says is running the tn-c modbut id rather follow this guide here and do it myselfgood stuff..

anyways does the pro b mod fully support online play. and if needed would i be able to access the psn network if i wanted to buy games off of it

thanks once again for this guide op

I am not very confident about giving away infos about online support xD I heard from some users that it is possible to go into the PSN with the new PRO-B firmwares, but I don t know anything about the online capabilities of this cfw. I hope someone else has a good answer I never played online with my psp s

In PRO s case, if there s a temporary hack installed, it s still in the flash of the system. It s loaded into the RAM when you run a FastRecovery, so it means even if the system reverted back to official FW, the files for the hack are still on the device. That s also why the hack unloads when you shut down your PSP RAM is cleared. That s why I asked if there s an uninstall feature for TN, because there might be some files in the NAND flash itself. That s why PRO has to be uninstalled or the system re-flashed to an official FW before installing a newer version.

But again, I state, I don t know how TN works at all, if it s installed in flash and has a fast recovery and whatnot. Just giving the heads up.

EDIT: You can access PSN natively on PRO. If you don t want risks, you could restart your PSP first to unload a non-perma hack. Dunno about online play, never tried it. But then again, with the 6.60 OFW out, I ve no idea what s running or not anymore.

thanks for the heads up didnt know this is how things work with these cfw. But say if i re downloaded the ofw 6.20 online and re updated the system with the same firmware would all that stuff in the nand flash be re written to ofw status. then i am free to re install the cfw with a fresh install of the 6.20 ofw. is this how i can get it to work.

That s what I heard yes. That s actually what I did with my Go before, some people put a 6.35 CFW on it and removed the uninstaller and I was a noob then, so I just updated to 6.39, overwriting the CFW by an OFW update. Worked fine, I m on 6.39 PRO-B8 now.

I m not sure about a 6.20 to 6.20 update though, but if it would work then it would re-flash the nand to the official files only.

thanks zygie and everyone here for the help

i guess to take it one step futher one can always upgrade from 6.20 6.30 and downgrade to be 100 sureor maybe i could just update to 6.39 and install the cfw then.

but can anyways tell me if i should stick with 6.20 and not upgrade.

Everyone says there s no problem with 6.20 perma on the Go. Games run just as fine as on 6.39, as well as pro cfw features themselves, and you don t have to run the FastRecovery every time you shut down your PSP. You ll miss out on Qriocity came with a later OFW, but do you use that.

If not, then for practicality s sake, go 6.20 perma. As long as your PSP meets the requirements, and you re careful about the procedure, you ll be fine.

hey thanks for the advice there..will try to upgrade and re mod the psp go when i get it later on today

just wanted to ask another question to uninstall pro b. .what does one have to do say if a future update from the pro series is outis it as simple as clicking the pro b icon in the xmb.. and going about the uninstall..

Run the PRO-B icon and press triangle to uninstall it it ll uninstall the permanent patch as well, then run the installer for the new version and the new permanent patch and have fun.

I am wondering if I should upgrade to 6.39 ME to play the new Final Fantasy Type-0 demo that going to be released to today. I am currently on 5.50 Prom-4 and have a PSP 1001.

another question i am confused about the downgrading procedureso you download the downgrade file in it there is a psp folder once you extract ityou put that on your psp overwriting the existing psp folder..where does the ofw 6.20 go when you download itdo you put it in the folder that you just overwritten.

update: i think i understand now so i take the ofw and put it in the update folder and then i copy just the downgrade folder to put into the psp/game folder not the whole psp folder that is extracted from the downgrade file as says in the tutorial on page one right.

also, can anyone tell me if the downgrade option is only for which ofw. only 6.30. can you say downgrade from 6.35 6.20..

I was on 6.20 PRO-B8 the time the demo came out. I had no problems with it, so changing your Firmware isn t necessary.

QUOTE aznblitz Aug 10 2011, PM another question i am confused about the downgrading procedureso you download the downgrade file in it there is a psp folder once you extract ityou put that on your psp overwriting the existing psp folder..where does the ofw 6.20 go when you download itdo you put it in the folder that you just overwritten.

DOWNGRADE FROM 6.3x TO 6.20/6.35 means you can downgrade from any 6.3x firmware to 6.20 or 6.35. So if you have 6.39, you could downgrade to 6.35. But trust me, it isn t that important You have the possibility for the cfw on 6.39 and now even 6.60, so downgrading is only important if you really want it to be installed permanently.

I updated the guide to reflect the newest changes and the new 6.60 PRO-B9

Okay so I ve done something pretty stupid.

So yesterday I bought a used PSP 2000 and today I bricked it.

Well, I think its a semi brick.

What I was doing, stupidly, enough was testing the 6.60 Pro on it.

The CIPL patch didn t brick it, so I m certain I have an early slim model.

Then I uninstalled it. Its all going fine.

However, I accidentally launched quick launch after it was uninstalled which has caused it to brick.

So when you turn it on, the power light stays on for a few secs, then turns itself off

I m hoping a Pandora battery will fix it. I ve ordered on from amazon just in case.

Since you didn t have any active CFW a Pandora is your only option. Do you just get a green power light and the backlight on when you power up.

I don t think the backlight comes on. May need to double check that

But the green light comes on for a few seconds, then turns off.

EDIT: I don t see it come on. And the green light is on for about 15-18 seconds.

At this point it doesn t really matter. The only other thing you can do is to remove the battery, leave the PSP for a couple of hours to discharge any internal power, and then try again. If it s still bricked you re going to have to test that Pandora.

Thanks for you help. I ll do exactly that.

I sound like a newb but I had a fat psp before with custom firmware, but it fell in a toilet and its unstable and the screen is water damaged.. :/

Sorry if this is a well-answered question, but: If I install this CFW, can I still access PSN / play games I ve purchased through PSN. Has anyone been banned from PSN after connecting their system with a CFW.

I have a PSP Go that s at 6.60 with no mods whatsoever right now. I also have a PSP-1000 that I think is also at 6.60 and clean; I can always leave one on PSN and one not; I m just trying to figure out what I want to do.

PRO lets you play online, bans just for having CFW haven t been done as far as we ve seen but are possible.

hello, i did everything as you said, i have psp 3000 6.35 model 01g lol its old i know and i hacked my psp as you said, step by step. i can see the game god of war: ghost of sparta on my game section in the psp ISO game, not legit game from a psp disc but when i try to play it, it just turn off my psp, can you tell me if i did something wrong or its the game s problem.

I am new here, and joined after reading this tutorial. I currently have a PSP-1001 running 6.39, and am trying to hack it based on this tutorial. I downloaded the stuff for 6.39, and extracted it with Winzip. I ended up with four folders: FastRecovery, sdk, PROUPDATE and CIPL_Flasher. Then, I made a folder called GAME on my desktop, because my PSP does not have a GAME folder. I moved the four folders into the new GAME folder, and with the USB connection, put the GAME folder in my PSP folder next to two other existing folders. I go to update the firmware, and. nothing. Could someone please pinpoint what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

Nevermind. I got it to work. The issue was that I wasn t going to Games on the memory stick when the PSP was on. Great hack, great guide, thanks.

This thread s tutorial s outdated it seems.

I havent hacked my psp yet i have the offical 6.60 firmware and would really like to be able to take screenshots is there a plugin i can use or does the 6.60 pro-b9 come with a screenshot abilaty built in. if not is there one avalible.

Go with PRO-C, it s the latest, and you can install this plugin for screenshots.

Ok got them but how do i add that plugin to the custom firmware.

sorry i m a bit non tech savvy

It s ok i managed to figure it out.

Thankyou verry much for the link XD

can u call and talk to me personally i am having some issues please reply

Unless you can describe them in a post i doubt you re going to fail at getting adequate help irrespective of delivery method.

could the codes in the first post be redone. because it is quite messy now , hard to read and thus hard to understand what to do though with a little effort I could make something out of it, I would appreciate it if someone could fix the first post.

OP, thank you. I ve just bought my PSP 3010 FW6.60 and I m about to buy a dual microSD adapter. I hope this guide will work for me without bricking my lovely PSP. I ll post the results when i m done. Castlevania, Ghouls n Ghosts, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, WAIT for me.

I don t get this. I have 6.60 B9 CFW, yet no ISOs I install are showing up. I realise the ISO folder is missing. I did add it in the main PSP area, it just didn t show for whatever reason. So uh, shed some light on this maybe.

Hey guys I recently won a used psp that has

and recently was given a memory stick with 660 pro-b fast recovery on it

I m not quite sure how to proceed as far as hacking goes since most guides say to upgrade to 6.60 official first, but the card already has cfw on it to my surprise

I don t want to brick this thing, what do I do first.

I cant get it to work i have the 6.60 i guess and my screen looked like yours all the things in the right place and i launched the firmware. But it still plays in Japanese. U know what i am doing wrong..

What problem exactly are you having. PSP model. Are you running CFW. What are you trying to run exactly that is in Japanese.

Not 100 sure. Box says 1001. I am trying to play digimon world re digitize. But i know nothing of patching. So maybe there was a step i needed to do before this tutorial

You need to either grab a pre-patched game, or patch it yourself. The original game is in Japanese, so you did everything correctly, it s just the game that needs to be patched to English.

Best place to ask help on that would be in here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/digimon-world-re-digitize-translation.331385/

Please don t request links to the pre-patched game or to the game itself, it s against the rules. Thanks.
